4th of July!

At the lake, on the Pontoon boat. The hubby, grandkid and myself. Anchored in the middle of the lake…doing a little fishing…waiting for the fireworks to start. The hubby and kid are in the back fishing off either side, I am out on the front deck sitting in a lawn chair with a hooded sweatshirt on and a Spongebob-Squarepants fleece blanket wrapped around my legs…fishing pole in hand.
The hubby says "is it dark enough to pee off the back?" I said "give it a try". So he proceeded and smarty-pants me leans over in my chair to peer down the side of the boat to get a “wiener peek“. Yep...me…the chair...the pole...all over the side! Crap! I watched my lawn chair slowly sink, then my pole! I managed to save the blanket and my flip flops...even got myself back on the boat...that wasn't easy with all those heavy clothes on, and my hubby standing above me...”now, was that worth it?!” “Well, yes…yes it was!!!“

I was so upset about loosing my pole but when we pulled up anchor my line was hooked on it and we were able to retrieve the pole!! And…you know how you don't think kids are paying attention? I was telling someone about my escapade without the "intimate details" and the grandkid pipes up and says..."now tell em what you were lookin at". Brat!

Oh, I changed my clothes…thank goodness I keep extras on the boat!…and we stayed and watched the fireworks. They were beautiful!! What a wonderful way to spend the 4th of July!!!
One more thing! When we got home...I dried the cell phone out that was in the sweatshirt pocket...it works good! Never give up on those cell phones!!!

Baptized!

After taking the leap of faith and admitting that you believe in GOD without question…I guess the next step is to be baptized! We made arrangements on a Wednesday, midway through our Bible study to do so. While chatting with the Minister regarding formalities of Baptism my hubby pops off, “Now don’t hold back when you dunk the wife…she can hold her breath a long time!” (ha ha…he’s so funny!)

The night of the baptism the Minister asked, “who wants to go first?” I say “The hubby…I’m sure the water is going to boil a little when he gets in and I want it nice and warm for me!” The hubby pipes up, ”Don’t forget, she can hold her breath a long time…go ahead, keep her down awhile, she’s in need of a lot of cleansing, if she starts to kick, just means she wants to stay down a little longer!” After we changed to dry clothes, the Minister says a prayer and a few words to the congregation. He then says to my hubby “Now, you are not only man and wife, you are brother and sister.” My hubby looks at me and says “ Honey, we went under the water in Washington but I think we came up in Arkansas!”

Seriously, being baptized was a very spiritual event! I highly recommend it to everyone!
